After quite a bit of preparation, I have finally managed to re-fight the 'Attack on Morobad', which was featured in Joseph Morschauser's book, HOW TO PLAY WAR GAMES IN MINIATURE.

I used a slightly amended version of Morschauser's 'Frontier' wargames rules for my re-fight, and a battle report can be read here = link

Read and enjoy!

Another great AAR, Bob. Taught those ruffians a lesson, ey wot? grin

Deeply inspirational. I love the clean look of the table, the use of the dot grid is intriguing, the modular fortress is a triumph (I especially like how the damaged sections show, in a concrete way, how the walls of Morobad are being degraded) and the figures are charming. The whole thing has an almost "toy" feel (this is said as a compliment) that I like very much.

Sorry if I missed it somewhere on your blog, but who makes the figures? Are they Essex 15's?

Thank you for the post!

Daryl Haselton,

Glad that you enjoyed this battle report. It was great fun fighting it, and building the modular fortress was simple and relatively easy.

You are spot on about the figures. They are all Essex Miniatures.

Nicely done and sounds like it was good Colonial war gaming fun.

Firing stumpy rifles held near the muzzle while doing the splits… one of Essex's numerous inferior castings.

Gone Fishing27 Dec 2015 10:33 p.m. PST

I disagree. I've always liked Essex's castings, whether in 15 or 25mm. Just goes to show…

Very descriptive AAR. Looks and sounds an enjoyable game.

Hope to see more battle reports soon. I always enjoy your Colonial games. They're a true inspiration for my own modest efforts.

Inspirational- everything looks fantastic and a great battle report. A modular fort using your instructions is definitely on my to-do list.

Great photos & AAR! I too will have to look into your modular fort!
