If you mean the ones I think you mean those are exercise/play mats available at Walmart or other department stores.

If there is a Harbor Freight store near you, get on their e-mail listing, and use a discount coupon to purchase a set of four mat pieces for $7.19 USD before the 20% coupon. The smooth side can be painted, or textured using latex caulk and the proper materials. Cheers!
