The Colossus of Rhodes – one of the Seven Ancient Wonders Of The World – may be resurrected as part of a bold new £183.00 GBPmillion plan.

…unlike last time, this one will be wearing underpants!"

That will ruin the picturesque charm of Rhodes harbour and overshadow the old town and fortress. I hope it never happens.

Perhaps we could call this one of the 7 stupidities of the modern world.

That would be fantastic. I've always been ranting about "Why don't the Greeks rebuild the Colossus of Rhodes? It would be so much easier today, and it would generate gazillions in tourist revenue."

While they're at it, they should reconstruct the gigantic bronze Athena statue on the Acropolis, the one whose reflected light could be seen by sailors rounding Cape Suonion.

Think BIG, Greece!

So, Disney graduated from buying a Star Wars to buying a country and its heritage?

If the statue had Mickey Mouse ears, that would cinch that rumor… ;-)

I find it a little odd that head architect Aris A. Pallas, the head of an international group of architects that are proposing the construction, doesn't seem to have a website for his firm. Maybe it's my Google-Fu.
