What sources are there for 1930s (or earlier) railway stock for VBCW or Interwar conflicts ? I'm mostly interested for 28-30mm figures. Thanks |

Teamsterz do a British outline saddle tank loco and a 4-4-0 minus tender, both of which are good for 28mm. They also do a set with carriages but they are definitely continental. You could scratch build wagon bodies to replace the ones provided? They are great as a basis for an armoured train as they are (I made one for the Back of Beyond) auction |

Technically none. OO Gauge (4mm to the foot) is small, but may well work as trains etc in real life are massive if you do not look too closely. O Gauge (7mm to the foot) is a little big, but if you only want an odd bit might serve S Gauge is generally found with American prototype stuff, but is 1/64th so might fit in with the nominal 1/56th that 28mm tries to brand itself as. US O Gauge is 1/48th and the closest fit, but again lacks UK prototype kit. |

Reviresco make 1/72 white metal rolling stock and an 0-6-0 tank locomotive that fit on standard 'HO' track, which makes them 3'6" narrow gauge (or HOn42)in their vehicle range which follows British outline. They claim they go with both 25mm and 28mm figures – unless you are doing combat inside the rolling stock or car-to-car the train is only going to be set dressing and would benefit from being slightly undersized. |

1/72nd is way too small for 28mm. |

Check out toy sets in bargain shops! With a bit of painting and small modifications these can produce good results. You just have to keep your eyes open. I also recommend carrying a standing figure around to check for scale – if it looks right it probably is right. |
