I have a bunch of old Hinchliffe mailed cavalry that I want to use as some of the eastern heavy cavalry types in Iran (Ghazvanid Persians for example). I think they are from the Saracen line and they have mail but no bow cases. Does anybody know if I can buy 20-30 eastern type bow cases to add to them? I was also curious if these early Iranian types were using the cane shields in the 9th and 10th centuries. Merry Christmas |

I don't think anyone has them for sale, but I have an idea. The Gripping Beast mounted Arabs, and the Fireforge Mongols plastic figures both have what you want. Try posting to the Plastic Soldiers Message Board to see if anyone has any extras. We do a lot of bits trading on that board. |

You might ask Aventine. He ships extras of both types of cases (strung and unstrung). I'm not sure that they wouldn't be quite large compared to old Hinchliffe figs though. Where are you located? If you are in the states drop me a pm – I think I have a couple of extras I could mail you so you could compare. |

Or if you want plastic options, Fireforge Games box of Steppe Warriors should come with a bow case for every figure. They also seem to come with big cane shields. |

The nice folks at Gripping Beast sold me a bunch for conversions. They are the new variety with the bowcase and sword cast together, but the sword can be easily clipped off if you don't want it. |
