BF's model selection was determined by the novel.

How much larger than QRF are they btw? Just height differences?

paulgenna22 Dec 2015 10:09 a.m. PST

Yes, we want to see the pics.

Yes I am loving TY too – not yet played any games – we are having our debut game on the 17th Jan, but the rules sure read well and the models are just lovely!

Not sure what you mean about the height issue – My M1 scales very well against the Khurusan one, certainly OK to use in separate platoons, and the T-72A scales identically with the Zvezda T-72B, and I assume Zvezda know their way around a T-72!

No pics from me either at this stage, I'm not sure the world is ready for my naked models, the first undercoast hides a multitude of sins. Anyway their are already plenty of shots of the models out there, trust me they are as beaut in the flesh as they are on film!

How are the kits to assemble?

Lots of fiddly parts, or not so bad, and they go together reasonably quickly?

Navy Fower Wun Seven22 Dec 2015 7:05 p.m. PST

The only fiddly parts are the magnets on the Helos for the rotors and stand – not so much fiddly as important to get the polarity right and the little Bleeped texts do jump around some!

Great that they provide spare mgs though – I shall now be able to provide my ZVEZDA T-72 commanders with Dushkas!

Thanks for sharing your pics.

How does the Zvezda model compare with the other two, in terms of overall size?

Hard to tell from the photo above, since it is slightly forward of the others, so can't tell if it is really larger, or just looks that way due to all the add-on armor on the turret.

PzGeneral23 Dec 2015 4:23 a.m. PST

You got BF T-72s? I was told at the FLGS they weren't released yet……

Navy Fower Wun Seven23 Dec 2015 2:50 p.m. PST

As I said above, the Zvezda B and BF A T-72s are identical in terms of height, width and length. If you look carefully at the bottom of Kyote's photos, you can see that whilst the Zvezda has been placed about 5mm forward of the BF one, the height is the same. Length and width is too, although you can't tell from that angle and placement.

PzGeneral23 Dec 2015 7:59 p.m. PST

Hmmm…..just Monday they told me they weren't out yet. But they did have the 901 box….

PzGeneral24 Dec 2015 7:54 p.m. PST

Got the Russians today thumbs up

McWong7326 Dec 2015 6:01 a.m. PST

Really surprised at how the treads look on the QRF model, or is it meant to represent a tank throwing a track? If that's the case I'd like to get one for an objective marker, that would be cool.

McWong7326 Dec 2015 2:26 p.m. PST

LOL!Cool.

If anyone is interested, OG is slightly shorter, not as tall, but just as wide. Over all ,not as nice of models, but about half the price. Once they are on the table I dont think you will be able to tell which is which without leaning over them.

Picked up a US box set today. Impressed with the models, in fact highly impressed. Was worried about the Cobra canopy being in two halves, but the actual canopy top is a separate piece – clever one BF.

The Abrams has enough pieces to allow for a good amount of detail, but not so many as to be a pain to assemble. Mind you, if you have an aversion to model kit assembly I don't think you'd be all that impressed, as there is still a fair bit of assembly required.

Once I have my Khurasan Abrams I'll get some compare and contrast pics up.

Got both starter boxes for Christmas. Everything is built and ready for paint.

One heads up – the sprues aren't bagged so when you open the box watch for any parts off the sprue falling out.

Otherwise happy with everything so far. Looking forward to the infantry releases.

PS – The Hind is huge!!!

Cardinal Ximenez29 Dec 2015 12:46 p.m. PST

The US tank crews are so so. The Russians on the other hand are very good. I'm hoping the upcoming infantry releases will be as good as the Russians in the starter boxes.
