So I put in an order with Architects of War on November 1st. I received the in-stock items right away, but I am still waiting on the special order items. I have received no communication and the Architects of War team is not answering emails at its customer service address. Has anyone else had luck with getting their special orders filled? Should I try to recoup my money through PayPal? I saw a few threads on this a while back but am wondering if anyone has more news. |

You should try to get your money back immediately, in my opinion. |

The comments from their kickstarter isn't promising. They've shut down their website and disconnected the phone line. I would file with PayPal immediately. |

Yep, it's more or less confirmed they've ceased operations and closed shop – while stiffing retail partners, customers and kickstarter backers. Unbelievable. |

There have been several threads about their lack of responsiveness. You are probably screwed. I am assuming they have already cleared out their paypal account, so paypal cannot make them refund what they don't have. |

Back on October 21st, I placed an order with them for Perry Minis. Hessian packs which were special order. After about November 10th, all communication from them stopped. I've emailed them about 12 times and then discovered their website shut down a week or more ago. As you've seen from other posts, they shut down their website and have cut off all communications with customers, even those with open orders. I put in a claim with Paypal to get back my $65. USD But as 79thPA said, getting our money back isn't promising because if they've cleared out their accounts, Paypal can't do anything except continue to request them to fulfill the refund claim. Ironically, this was my first ever order with them. I should have just stuck with the Warstore for my Perry minis, they've never once failed to ship an order and have always maintained fantastic communication with customers. |

This is awful to hear. They always seemed like such a good operation, and then this. |

I assume the same applies to Alien Dungeon? As far as I could tell AD was just one of their "brand names" and not a separate company? |

They certainly did a wonderful job destroying their good reputation. |

I ordered "in stock" items from their last 40% off sale – has anyone gotten any deliveries from this sale? |

Received my order from the Black Friday sale of 1 carroccio, oxen, and figures to go with it, and quickly. |

During the sale, I ordered one of each pack of Saga dice, and received everything quickly. I'm really surprised at this, as they had just relocated, too. |

Yeah looks like their fantasy KS game didn't rake in the money they needed and the AQ didn't do as well as promised either… |

I got some Saga in-stock material during the sale. Actually, the quickest delivery of the season. I must have been one of the last orders out… |

If you paid your paypal with a credit card I would immediately contact my credit card company. Almost all have "fraud" protection, if you paid and never received goods your company will often cover the amount. Of course also file a complaint with paypal. While you can only recover from one source and while paypal generally won't cover you in the event that they have cleaned out their account at least it will make it difficult for them to conduct business. Also contact your State's (assuming you are in the US) Attorney General's Office and file a complaint, also file a complaint with the Attorney General's office in Architect of Wars home State. I'm not sure about coverage if you paid with a debit card but I would definitely contact my bank. |

Murphy, Crush of Iron started on November 3 and was canceled 8 days later. They were looking for $20 USDk and had $17.5 USD pleadged when they pulled the plug. I suspect issues with Alien Dungeon itself caused them to cancel to prevent more AQMF like problems…… |

I received a refund from AoW after filing a claim with PayPal. It went very smoothly and only took two days once the claim was actually filed. If you have not filed a claim, why not? Don't assume or speculate that you won't receive a refund until you've tried. |

I placed an order after reading that they were offering 40 % on remaining items. I placed the order on Monday night and the entire order arrived Wednesday morning. I bought Perry North America Buildings, Rendera tents and fencing and a bunch of "only 1 left" items. I was shocked to see the complete order arrive so quickly. I will say that everything that I bought, was the last one left, according to their website. I'm thinking that I was really lucky, here. |

They were nice to deal with 2 or 3 years ago. But something changed with their customer service. I stopped buying from them after that. |
hocklermp5 | 21 Dec 2015 5:49 p.m. PST |
I ordered $75 USD worth in order to get 15% off and got everything but the "Special Order" item from Perry. After a number of e-mails and phone calls went unanswered I made the post on TMP that started all subsequent posts from others in the same boat. I certainly was not expecting all that followed. There is no other way to look at it other than as fraud and outright theft. |

@hocklermp5, That is how I'm beginning to see it too. What I can't get past more than anything is that if they knew they would be closing up shop, how could they in good conscience allow customers to continue buying and paying for special order items that they knew they were never going to ship? They should have taken down every single special order Perry mini product from their website. If this was some sudden, unexpected catastrophe that happened to them like a medical emergency, etc. then I fully understand. But even so, you can't just leave your website's store appearing as though it can still fulfill special orders. You have to take that particular product off your site when you know you can no longer fulfill orders. To still allow money to exchange hands and to allow Paypal payments to be processed is just beyond inexcusable. |
