Over the past three weeks I have been building a modular fortress to use in my wargames. It was inspired by a photograph of the 'Walls of Morobad' that was in Joseph Morschauser's book HOW TO PLAY WAR GAMES IN MINIATURE.

I completed the wall, tower, and gateway modules just over a week ago …

… and I have now finished painting them. The end result looks like this:

I can see where a few acute or obtuse-angled wall "wedges" could expand possibilities far beyond the handy square fort design.
