Am I mistaken in my belief that nobody makes a complete set of cotton clad rams for The battle of Memphis in 1/1200 scale namely. General Bragg, General Earl van Dorn, General Sterling Price, General M Jeff Thompson, General Beauregard, Colonel Lovell General Sumpter, Little Rebel, I had a set of scratch built models of these rams years ago and we had great fun playing games with them. I used to love ACW naval battles but found that any game involving Ironclads was pretty dull excepting Mobile bay and the Arkansas running past the the Union fleet. |

link BAY made them, but I'm not sure when they will be back in production. Mark |

That would make a great multi player game. Maybe throw in some random confusion events? martin

Yes BAY do make a nice set of these ships but they are in 1/600 scale which would be a bit big for my table. Also the interpretations of what each boat looked like seem to have been based on the inaccurate drawings seen in "Battles and Leaders" which are contradicted by the primary source evidence. You are never going to get a 100% accurate set of models but I am convinced you can get closer than the current offerings. As you say it made for an exciting game full of confusion and bad fortune. of all the civil war naval battle I would love to play this one again . |

@wargamer6 – I have an Excel file with everything I know of in 1/1200, and all of your list are available: General Bragg – Houston/Stone Mountain Miniatures and Titan General Earl van Dorn – Houston General Sterling Price – Houston, Titan, Navwar General M Jeff Thompson – Houston again General Beauregard – as above Colonel Lovell – as above General Sumpter – as above Little Rebel – as above |

Thanks for the links boy wundyr x , I must say that the Houston ships look really good, I just wish there were more photos of the ships though. I am a bit wary about one picture I saw purporting to be Sterling Price. There are only photos of two of these ships and this model didn't look anything like the photo of the Sterling Price so I hope it has been incorrectly labeled. Has anyone got a picture of all these Houston models. Langton ships are of course superb and set the standard but they don't make the full set unfortunately. |

Hi Wargamer6 – I have most of my collection in Houston ships (others are Titans), but all are still awaiting painting. Dave at Stone Mountain should be able to help you with more info, and as the ships are usually in three-packs of different ships, it's possible one got mislabelled. There are some guys around here who have more experience with Houston ships, they may be able to help too. I hope to get the few ships unique to Navwar in 2016, then finish off my Houston gaps. |

It's a shame that so much of the items Bay Area Yards offers have been out of stock for years and/or months! It seems like they are no longer interested in doing business, which makes me wonder why keep a web site up that offers so little anymore!!! |
