What do people do with them?
I checked with both of the main re-sellers,Noble Knight and Miniature Market. No one seems to be selling like I used to see of just random lots of commons and uncommons that accumulate .Even looking at Ebay I found one guy and his prices are kinda waked I mean he wants $2 USD for a common.

If he is doing free shipping ebay and the post office is taking most of his $2 USD

What are you looking for?

What extras?

I'm looking for D&D/ Pathfinder Battles stuff.

Nap he is doing free shipping but if you are in the USA and shipping to USA you can ship small stuff like this fairly dirt cheap.
For example
He charges $16.5 USD for 10 points. so you get 5 of the 2 point stuff. He ships flat rate and that is $5.5 USD. If you look at place that sell singles like miniature mart same figs cost .85 each. so that is 3.5+5.5 shipping depend on the guy.
The deal is good when you go multiple lots but he is about only person doing it. I remember when there where tons of guys on Ebay. I am just looking to pick up cheap figs for GMing Pathfinder. Plus, don't get me on a rant about professional companies who do not use USPS Flat rate. It cuts a ton of cost and overhead from you business. Boxes are free, they give you a fixed rate and delivery time frame.
Any pro company that is not using it I am leery of and somehow think they are trying to rip me off.

local comic and hobby stores sell them for .25 cents each.

Law of Supply and Demand…

MK figures have been OOP for years. The supply is fixed, and most have been vacuumed up by gamers already. I've picked up a hundred, or so, over the years. I always re-base them, so they will never be in circulation in their original condition. You may have better luck searching by specific MK figure name, rather than batches. Even then, there are so few of them left, that the price should be expected to be higher than it was a few years ago. Cheers!

Also take into account, at least I think anyway, D&D is on the rise. So demand for figures is going up. The bulk of the D&D prepainted figures are OOP. But people still want them.
