We fought this over 2 weekends, the last weekend in November & finished it last weekend. It was a great game & a blast was had by all, even the Brits, who I must say, had to ruin the civilians breakfast by reporting in the newspapers of another catastrophic disaster! It lasted 5 turns & was based on the "Church" scenario from the TSATF scenario book. All the Zulus came in on the 8' x 4' on their roll of a d20, with 20 possible entry points. The Brits had to start with one unit at each house & escort the civilians to the Fort in the center of the board. It didn't go well… Full pics here: link Each pic has the turn number & usually Zulu Right or Left flank indications in the comment section. Thank you Larry, for everything and RIP, Sir. very nice Ceterman ..from picts--it seem that you staged a game very in line with what Mr Brom would have appreciated and with what he teached to us gamers as i suspected..but nver tried or see on picts from various games..your use of "real" casualty castings instead of counters was certainly time and money spending but it's great on a tabletop..it adds to the game both in therm of visual effect, realism and understundanding of the narrative of the battle…i must have a try |

Your table reminds me of the drawing in the rulebook--though without the signature kitty litter borders! The game looks like a lot of fun and I'm sure Larry would have loved it. Thank you for posting! |

ITALWARS, I have always used dead guys as markers of some sort for all my little wars, all periods. After major engagements we usually put down 1 fig for every 2 or 3 killed. It really does help you to follow the battle & looks cool as hell! I think ;) I see them as important as any other figs. I hate figs on bases turned over used as casualties, it completely ruins my gaming buzz! Glad you like them. Daryl, I tried to do the table as close as I could to Larry's map, thanks for the nice compliment! Ya know, every time I tried to use cat litter, my cats would pee on the table ;) Appreciate it guys… Peter board2deathterrain.com |

Lori, Actually Rob, Keith & myself got to play a huge Zulu game GM'd by your dad at Historicon in the early 90's! We had a blast and he did too, you could plainly see he enjoyed GMing that game! Thanks so much for your comments. It does my heart good. Peter |
