A-
I wouldn´t say it is my main form of gaming, but it is tied for first.

cfielitz12 Dec 2015 2:37 p.m. PST

Between A and B. Used to play a lot, now not so much. But interested in getting back to it particularly pre-dreadnought and modern.

B+ I don't get to play as often as I would like but I have opposing fleets for ancients, renaissance, AoS, European Victorian era, Russo Japanese War, WWI and II, modern FAC.

I seem to play more SF and starship combat.

KTravlos12 Dec 2015 2:48 p.m. PST

B) Age of Sails and Pre-dreadnought. At least 1 game each a year.

Monkey Hanger Fezian12 Dec 2015 2:51 p.m. PST

Tgerritsen Supporting Member of TMP12 Dec 2015 3:35 p.m. PST

B+ for me. There a big gap between A and B. I play naval when I can and love it, but it's one of several genres for me.

Shedman12 Dec 2015 3:54 p.m. PST

I will play Naval games but I have terrible trouble with wind

dBerczerk12 Dec 2015 4:01 p.m. PST

d) -- "Man o' War" by Games Workshop: Bretonnians, Dwarves, Elves, Orcs, Norsemen, and The Empire!

Simple but effective rules. Colorful fleets. Easy to set up and take down. Often a real "crowd-pleaser."

B, though, like you I love doing Sails of Glory …I do do coastal forces WW2 as well though!

Khusrau12 Dec 2015 4:36 p.m. PST

B+ Predreadnought, Dreadnought, Age of Sail, 'Modern' (well actually Cold War) and even some 16-17th Century stuff.

I don't get to play it as often as I would like.

B+ I guess. Occasional Napoleonics using 1/2400 Tumbling Dice or the old pirates plasticard ones, WW2 with a hefty axis and allies collection, and narrow seas with a frankly absurd 1/600 collection. (Thanks MH….) Also have a small 1980s 1/6000 collection painted, although due to Harpoon trauma at an early age they've never been used. May try Shipwreck some time though. And I nearly forgot the 1/700 missile boats – only a few of those, but they've had a couple of outings with your Bulldogs Away rules. Other periods are on the agenda somewhere down the line, eg. one day I *will* sit down and get those 1/300 card Hotz galley fleets done….

A. Always my first preference although I do other things as well.

1/6000 Modern through Russo-Japanese
1/4800 WW2 – just starting to build
1/3000 Napoleonic Sail
1/2400 Age of Sail, Ironclads, Renaissance, ACW, Pre-Dreadnought
1/1200 -Dystopian Wars – VSF

B for me

BuckeyeBob12 Dec 2015 6:42 p.m. PST

A. (tho I also game WW2 land in 15 & 20mm)
1/2400 and 1/6000 WW1 & 2. (Rules: Seas of War, Fire on the Water, Seekrieg V, SeaPower 1-111, GQ 1-2 and 3, FAI, Naval Thunder, Small war at sea 1 & 2, Victory at sea, Micronauts, Grandfleets, Fletcher Pratt (which started it all back in 1969) and my own home brew set; KruiserKrieg.)

1/2000 AoS (tho looking to acquire some SoG ---eyesight is not what it used to be)

Lascaris12 Dec 2015 7:04 p.m. PST

B – I do some GQ3 from time to time but do land warfare more often than naval

daveshoe12 Dec 2015 7:20 p.m. PST

A-
I love naval gaming and play it often. But I also like air battles, so I'm giving myself an A-.

F. +

But I would play if someone runs a game.

Shagnasty Supporting Member of TMP12 Dec 2015 8:27 p.m. PST

A, sorta. It is one of my major areas of interest. I have galleys, Nelsonian era, Victorian/ACW, AeroNefs,Pre-Dreads,WW I, WW II and, if they count, B_5 space ships.

21eRegt12 Dec 2015 9:05 p.m. PST

Major area of interest with large collections from about 1690-1945, but I'm only a dabbler because of lack of other player interest. So a B.

Combat Colours12 Dec 2015 9:15 p.m. PST

D.WW1 and ACW Ironclads, with other's toys.

Scafcom1 Supporting Member of TMP12 Dec 2015 10:47 p.m. PST

A. Mostly AOS, WW2, WW1, Pre-dreadnought era, and ACW.
First time was in 1971 while still in elementary school.

Remember, you have to start them young, or they might lose interest.

G. It is something I do a fair bit but not my main interest.

Certainly more than "dabble", but first love remains ww2 land warfare.

Timmo uk13 Dec 2015 3:23 a.m. PST

At different life stages, A, B, C and D. I have two naval projects on my 'might do one day' list.

Jcfrog13 Dec 2015 4:35 a.m. PST

YES but not easy to find others, who know a bit about ships too. Maybe go and live on this island…soon.;)

C though I have 1:6k for Java Sea campaign (and a modern DDG for a Java Sea setting for a Final Countdown like scenario.)

Edit: Note that pure naval ship only games are tertiary.

I prefer aircraft or space combat then land based mass battles/skirmishes, then naval (ship to ship) gaming.

Micman Supporting Member of TMP14 Dec 2015 5:00 p.m. PST

I am a solid B with occasionally leaning to an A. It all depends on what is shinny at the moment. Last year was Cold War.

WW2, Cold War, Age of Sail.

Trying to find a way to get some Naval elements into All Quiet on the Martian Front. Not a lot of 15mm ish size ships for 1910.

Tabletop: C. I have a good time but not a good enough time to invest in the materials. I'm happy playing games others set up for cons.

Professional: Not (much) any more. I work somewhere else now.
