Do you wargame in 10mm scale?

Personal logo McKinstry Supporting Member of TMP Fezian11 Dec 2015 11:33 p.m. PST

Yes.

Mako1111 Dec 2015 11:44 p.m. PST

1/144th, or 12mm, though some call the close approximation of 1/150th – 1/160th, 10mm as well, so yes, close enough.

Pictors Studio11 Dec 2015 11:46 p.m. PST

I am. I game Fantasy, several armies there including Kislev, Empire, Chaos, Orcs, Elves and Ogres, Crimean War and English Civil War all in 10mm. Great scale, really gives the feel of a big battle.

Dave Jackson Supporting Member of TMP12 Dec 2015 12:08 a.m. PST

Yes, for ACW and 1 of my WWII scales.

normsmith12 Dec 2015 12:12 a.m. PST

I use 10mm Pendraken and 12mm Kallistra (the two do not mix) – I also use Kallistra hex terrain and both these scales fit well with that system.

Durban Gamer12 Dec 2015 12:13 a.m. PST

WW 1 East Africa. Range is small so I do a lot of converting.

Grunt186112 Dec 2015 12:30 a.m. PST

Absolutely, what Mako11 said, (we game together). Ancients, Napoleonic, ACW and WW II.

Personal logo Dye4minis Supporting Member of TMP12 Dec 2015 12:37 a.m. PST

Yes. It's been my primary scale since 1998. I also do 5mm (H&R and Irregular), 6-8mm (Adler and Baccus) 15, 20 and (finally took the plunge) 28mm as well.

Texas Jack12 Dec 2015 1:08 a.m. PST

Yep, WWII and ACW.

nickinsomerset12 Dec 2015 2:39 a.m. PST

No. 6mm for bigger battles, 15mm or 6mm for 75 – 100 figs per side, 28mm for 50 per side or less.

CATenWolde12 Dec 2015 2:51 a.m. PST

Yep! Anybody remember my 10mmWorld website? :)

Green Tiger12 Dec 2015 3:24 a.m. PST

Yes

Badgers12 Dec 2015 3:50 a.m. PST

I would for Cold War to Modern but it's pretty hard to get vehicles and figures. There are plenty of Tank Museum etc. tanks knocking around but nowhere near enough APCs.

GildasFacit Sponsoring Member of TMP12 Dec 2015 3:58 a.m. PST

Yes – currently working on early WW1.

Have painted a lot of the Pendraken range for other people though – great figures.

Mick in Switzerland12 Dec 2015 4:02 a.m. PST

I have played Modern, WW1 and WW2 with Pendraken figures and vehicles using Force on Force for Modern and using Rapid Fire for WW1 and WW2. I think 10mm is very good if you want a lot of vehicles and troops. I prefer it to 15mm and 6mm.

Chris Palmer12 Dec 2015 4:32 a.m. PST

Yes! WWII, ACW, Fantasy, and Medieval. And have frequently played WWI and Napoleonics with friends collections.

To me it is the perfect scale for mass-effect, and still being able to see what figures are meant to represent. In my opinion, 15mm always looked to big, and 6mm too small.

Cold Steel12 Dec 2015 4:39 a.m. PST

WW 2 and 3.

KTravlos12 Dec 2015 4:46 a.m. PST

Yes. All my 19th century stuff are pendraken 10mm.

John Armatys12 Dec 2015 4:48 a.m. PST

No, I think that 5/6mm, 15mm, 20mm and 35/28mm are enough.

Dynaman878912 Dec 2015 5:55 a.m. PST

No, but if I knew the scale existed when I started I might have gone with it instead of 6 and 15.

NCC171712 Dec 2015 6:02 a.m. PST

WWI in 10mm, 12mm, 1/144, N-scale (1/148, 1/150, 1/160):

Schogun12 Dec 2015 6:06 a.m. PST

Just started 10/12mm WWII in North Africa. I use Pithead vehicles because the sculpts are good, the scale consistent and the range pretty much complete. And nicely priced!

ciaphas12 Dec 2015 6:07 a.m. PST

yes, you name it I game it. All in 10mm.

jon

vtsaogames12 Dec 2015 6:11 a.m. PST

Most of my stuff is 15mm but I do have British and Ottoman Empire in 10mm for middle eastern fronts in the Great War.

Cosmic Reset12 Dec 2015 6:20 a.m. PST

No, I game 6mm and 15mm, which sort of eliminates any real advantage to gaming in 10mm.

general btsherman12 Dec 2015 6:32 a.m. PST

Yes

45thdiv12 Dec 2015 6:38 a.m. PST

No, I game 20mm and larger.

Tgerritsen Supporting Member of TMP12 Dec 2015 7:25 a.m. PST

Yes, WWII and Fantasy

Zargon12 Dec 2015 7:26 a.m. PST

About to, 1 the Augsburg range from Pendraken and 2 Piquet rules, I noted its ugly/beautiful rules recently, so funds being saved to see this project happen 2016 :)
Cheers all happy gaming

Wackmole912 Dec 2015 7:34 a.m. PST

yes , I have several large fantasy armies and 5-6 ancient armies in 10mm scale

Martin Rapier12 Dec 2015 7:50 a.m. PST

No. I thought long and hard abut it both for FPW and WW2 but in the end it seemed an unhappy compromise between the detail of 15mm and larger and the ease of storage and transportation 6mm and less.

So I just game in 2mm, 6mm, 15mm, 20mm and 54mm:)

Bashytubits12 Dec 2015 8:04 a.m. PST

I have it in ancients, WW2, AWI, WSS but have yet to actually have a game with any of them.

John Leahy Sponsoring Member of TMP12 Dec 2015 8:39 a.m. PST

I have ACW, ECW and fantasy armies in 10mm. ThE ACW army is the largest. I have about 1500 painted and another 700 to go.

Thanks,

John

darthfozzywig12 Dec 2015 9:11 a.m. PST

Yes, for ACW.

Also have some Romans but I haven't really painted them up.

Goober12 Dec 2015 9:19 a.m. PST

Yes, 10mm fantasy with Pendraken and Kallistra, which mix quite well (as long as you are selective about which units you use).

Yes -mostly Scruby N-gauge.

Waco Joe12 Dec 2015 11:22 a.m. PST

I have 10mm Napoleonics but never gamed with them.

Mako1112 Dec 2015 12:01 p.m. PST

WWII and Cold War for me.

Legbiter12 Dec 2015 12:51 p.m. PST

Sure, I play Wings of War/Glory, and theoretically land-games too – got the scenery and troops, just not the opponents!

Shagnasty Supporting Member of TMP12 Dec 2015 1:13 p.m. PST

No. 15s are all I need in a smaller scale.

steamingdave4712 Dec 2015 1:37 p.m. PST

Yes, WW2, Crimean War, WSS, League of Augsburg, Medieval, "Dark Ages".
My favourite scale for most periods- miniatures are easy to paint, but have recognisable detail, cheap to buy and you can play with good sized units on relatively small tables.

Bandolier12 Dec 2015 1:47 p.m. PST

Yep. ACW, Napoleonics, FPW.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut12 Dec 2015 1:51 p.m. PST

I have occasionally drafted a 10mm miniature as a 15mm halfling, but that's as close as I get.

ACWBill12 Dec 2015 3:21 p.m. PST

Yep!

I do ACW in 10 mm, 15/18 mm, and 25 mm, nearly went to 40 mm but finally came to my senses over that scale!! Also, for a few years did Napoleonic in both 10 mm and 15mm, but when storage became a problem I sold off the 10 mm collection only because it was the larger of the two!
