As part of my Ghostbusters Project, I will also be looking at other movies, media and games that I feel "fits" within an 'expanded' Ghostbusters universe and suggesting 28mm miniatures to represent the characters. Part One of this can be found on my blog here: link Comments and feedback, both welcome and appreciated. |

I've been putting together a little Victorian Ghostbuster team that includes the West Wind Spirit Vacuum (perfect piece), but the rest of my team is composed of Reaper figures from their Chronoscope and Savage Worlds figures lines: Rowena Von Graff 50304 Dr. Charles Bennet 50281 Andre Durand 50178 Deadlands Noir 59041 Mad Scientist (Male) 59014 Mad Scientist (Female) 59009 I'm thinking of calling this team Specter Throttlers rather than Ghostbusters. Good luck with your project. I look forward to seeing more. Richard |

Thanks Richard. I did look through the Reaper figures and agree with you on your choices, although I think the Deadlands Noir Patent Scientist looks more suitable as a 1920s or '30s Ghostbuster. A nice figure with a stunning paint job on the Reaper site. How about 'Revenant Removers' as a name? Sounds a bit more stiff-upper lipped and Victorian, if you know what I mean… |

I'm using the Ghostbusters in 15mm and fitting them into the Monster Hunter International series of novels by Larry Correa. Can't help with figs much of course, but the plotlines can fit – the Monster Hunters don't bother with ghosts since they don't leave a body they can claim the government bounty on, so ghost busting has filled the gap as for-hire specialists. |

To be honest, I had to look up "revenant" in my dictionary so I guess I should stick with Specter Throttlers. I agree that Deadlands Noir… hasn't quite the 19th Century look of the others, but he was fun to paint and will serve if I find I "need" a seventh member of the team… right now I see him as a standby member of the team. As the team's vehicle I found a great Hallmark carriage (plastic Christmas decoration) at the swap meet last year. All of the Christmas decor on it came off easily and I will be adding Ghostbuster-style odds and ends to it as I find them. It will be pulled by the HeroClix Bioshock mechanical horse. Fun stuff. I'm looking forward to your Part 2 because as you can see, I think you have a really good idea going. Richard |

Cheers Richard. I'd love to see what you've done with your Spectre Throttlers, and the carriage sounds fantastic. If you have a blog featuring your work or images shared online, I will quite happily post a link to it in my next blog post. The actual project is two-fold, whereby we have the underlying Ghostbusters project, interspersed with posts such as the one above. There are quite a few unrelated movies that have the same sensibility, humour and feel of Ghostbusters, so I'd thought I'd get my ideas and opinions in prior to the release of the reboot, so if it turns out to be…not good, at least I'll have identified other options for those who want a bit more (almost) Ghostbusting. |

I'm a guy who really enjoys a big project so what you are doing sounds like you should be in for a good time. I'm sure I have a picture taken of my painted Throttler team that I'll look for and post here. The carriage is still in the gathering-of-parts phase. I have the carriage and the Bioshock Automated Stallion but I'm still seeking out the odd bits to give it a "Ghostbuster" flavor… almost there. I do have a website featuring my work. There are currently 17 galleries posted on that website of which 12 are 15mm of a historical/military nature and 4 are 28mm of a Pulp/Adventure/Victorian Gothic style. The gallery that is most directly related to what we are talking about here and to which my Spectre Throttlers will become a part is link |

Oh my… That is one impressive Victorian city and selection of miniatures. I am in awe of the time, effort and craftsmanship that has gone into this. All the little details – the body in the shrubbery, the boxing ring, the opium den. Just incredible. I kept expecting the cast of Ripper Street or Penny Dreadful to walk around the corner… Copplestone Castings Ratman of Limehouse would be right at home here and you appear to be missing flying nannies and dancing chimney sweeps. Absolutely stunning work, Richard. |

Thanks to you both for the very kind words. I really love the way that collection and city layout came out… it was a long (though fun) project. This past October I completed my 15mm French and Indian War collection/gallery, and I'm currently working on a 28mm gangster collection and city (plus a harbor area). I mention that because I plan to throw a lot of crazy things in that one including a Ghostbuster crew composed of the Crooked Dice figures, an 11" tall plastic Stay Puft man (originally a bank) and their vehicle will be the command car from the toys marketed with the release of the Disney movie Atlantis the Lost Empire. I used one of those command cars in my Pulp Egyptian archeological dig gallery, and I have another that I will be making over for my Ghostbuster team. You can see the one I did for the Egyptian archeological dig in picture 48 at link |

This picture of my Spectre Throttlers was taken before I painted the Reaper Mad Scientists (male and female) but it gives you an idea of what the crew looks like. [URL=http://s1082.photobucket.com/user/rgarretson/media/IMG_1564_zpsifykd6rk.jpg.html]

Use InSpectres. They can be from Scotland Yard. :) |
