"The force of Chaos are getting themselves some more tools to spread their ideologies across the land in Age of Sigmar. As big as he might be, the Everchosen of Archaon can't do everything himself. So he's getting himself some swift-hooved helpers in the form of the Varanguard.

The figures are available in two different sets (primarily). You can get a set of three or a set of nine (being three sets of the three). I true GW fashion, there's all sorts of ways you can put the figures together, with extra heads, weapons, and armor plates to let you customize your set to your needs.

Orders are being taken now with shipping to start on the 12th."

What will eventually kill Games Workshop is that there figures are just too complex for children to paint! These are ridiculous.

Legatus. You have a very good point there.

Dragon or Horse or Machine--this is not a great combo
And the poses?!?!?!?!? That great big chunk of miniature and there is 1 hoof on the ground----terrible

Leaves me very little hope on the return of Necromunda or Mordheim

I was in a GW store for the first time since the beginning of the year and saw the AoS figures. I for one was not impressed. As a suggestion to people who are buying these for their kids – also get a cheap spray can of gold paint from a hardware shop. Will save a lot of time and hassle.

They look cool as heck. If I had any use for them I'd nab them in a heartbeat.

Mithmee07 Dec 2015 7:11 p.m. PST

At $100 USD for three or $300 USD for nine.

Really $33.33 USD per figure.

No freaking way.

They look like crap and are far to overpriced.

I'll probably get a set of them by and by. $33 USD for what is, essentially a character cavalry figure, isn't that bad.

I think they look really cool. The one hoof on the ground thing isn't a problem because they are plastic and that is a pretty big hoof. I would imagine there is probably more surface area contact with the base than a lot of regular plastic cavalry.

Awesome minis!

Almost certain to pick them up.

Its a matter of taste. To me they look garish and cartonish and as an adult I would feel silly putting them on the table. Price ridiculus.

But if people are willing to pay $100 USD for three weirdly proportioned plastic figures its their business. The look may appeal to some.

From GWs perspective you aren't going to be able to proxy them with other rationally priced figures. Too strange for any other company to produce. Nor would they be usable in any other game – so you've got to stay in the GW world. A smart if ruthless marketing ploy. PT Barnum would have approved.

If they make you happy and you've got the 100 bucks to blow – its your (and GWs) party.

Agree with most of the previous posts except. Not being able to use them in other fantasy games? I disagree with that 100%. I would love to paint and field them in games…… Just as soon as someone sends me a set of them free. It will be a artic winter in Hades before I pay that kind of money for a plastic I built and unpainted model.
