I seem to remember reading somewhere that Foundry cannon are a bit on the small side. As their SYW figures (especially Russian) are nice and chunky I was wondering if Front Rank canon would be better.

This will be for Russian guns to start with but I'll add Austrian and Prussian later.

What do you use?

Front Rank, for sure!

I like the Foundry guns. Well done Perry miniatures. They fit in with the smaller Foundry Perry miniatures, which are smaller than Elite, Front Rank and other manufacturers' larger figures.

Other than Foundry, I use Elite, Calpe, Westfalia and now Murawski. Consider Elite guns to start if you want imposing artillery that looks great. Peter usually has a Christmas offer.

Almost all of my guns are Old Glory and Connoisseur. I have a number of Foundry figures, but their artillery was/is way overpriced for me, so I don't have a single piece from them.

Is this for Napoleonic or SYW?

Ditto Front Rank.

I'd suggest the Minden and Fife & Drum artillery. They are sculpted by Richard Ansell at a 1:56 scale so all of the guns "fit together." Plus they've used the latest research by Christian Rogge and others to get the dimensions correct.

These are for SYW. Just spotted that I cross posted this on the 19th Century board not the 18th Century apologies for the confusion.

I'll take a look at Minden and Front Rank then.

Thanks all.

Front rank are HUGE! They seem to be under the impression that a 6pdr. is twice as large as a 3 pdr.!
