A fellow club member wants to take advantage of Foundry's Xmas sale just now and buy Carthaginians, Numidians, Spanish and Celts from them. But it would appear there are two different sets of these at Foundry, from different sculptors – earlier ones from Gallagher which I'm told are like Perry and later ones from Copplestone. Are these two ranges compatible? The earlier ones look smaller (and, to my eyes, nicer). Is there a figure comparison of these somewhere on the Net? Or a comparable review? Feedback sought. |

I've got a matched pair of the old Gallager Romans and Carthaginians . I'm a lot less likely than most to mix styles, FWIW. The old Gallager range is complete in terms of Romans, I freely mixed Mirliton and Perry Gauls with the Carthaginians – they were a great match, stylistically. Mirliton Samnites look great next to them as well. Gripping Beast are usable. In fact, I used the Gripping Beast Roman shield transfers to re-fit this army, and they work well with a little touch-up. I like Copplestone figures on their own, but I really do prefer the old Roman range. The Copplestone Numidians and Spanish just aren't a good mix with the old Gallager range, IMO. |

IMHO, the older Gallagher range is smaller and are quite nice. Mike Adams |
