Ahh yes. I am back. Now to express my disappointment. I, with the super help of the TMPers on this forum, have now made progress with my 1 72 Revell Cromwell tank where I am to the point of the assembling the turret. Decision. Decision. Build the kit turret, or substitute the Black Dog resin conversion – the Hessian tape which I purchased a while back. I go with the Black Dog conversion. Open it and to my dismay, the coaxial machine gun and main 75mm per are reversed (coaxial on the left and 75 mm on the right)!! What a bummer. I never noticed on the box art for the kit or in a photo on the web until I looked moments ago to confirm if I, again, have lost my mind or if someone at Black Dog just do his/her research… The mold of the Hessian tape is outstanding (although the barrel of the coaxial mg came broken and green stuff is needed to fix air bubble at muzzle brake). Anyone else had experience with Black Dog products? I think this could go down as the most irritating project ever. I will most definitely field the completed Cromwell in my first Battlegroup/Coc game and it had better do a lot of damage to make up for the angst it has caused me in building it… |

Any chance you could break off the gun and coax and swap their positions? Given how they are recessed in the turret, it ought to work. |

Also, I assume you mean the coax on the model is on the left as you face it, because from the gunner's perspective, the coax IS on the left (i.e., the right as you face it. |

Ivan – yes, the coax is on the model is on the left as you face it. I thought about breaking off the gun and swapping positions but I am so nervous about the condition of the resin. In the end, this is probably what I will have to do so the kit doesn't go to waste. There is some nice stowage in the kit and and some nice tape molded for the hull front. |

Can't you use the Revell gun and coax? Even if you break the Black Dog barrels you have instant replacements. |

Looking at pictures of real vehicles suggests the hessian on the gun is way overdone anyway. In fact even the turret itself is a little OTT. I'd replace the gun and just use a few strips of tissue paper or something instead. |
