I've had a go at the first battle in the TFL's Op Martlet pint-sized campaign – and very exciting it was too. I played it with the old WRG rules PDF link and used Martin English's "Threat Generation System" for solo play, from Miniature Wargames 373. AAR here: link

n.b. Cross-posted to Magazines & Periodicals as I used a rules system published in Miniature Wargames.

Great batrep, thanks for posting! Looks like you did a good job, too! I should be playing Martlet soon, as well.

And I agree with you observation: Chain of Command is a fantastic set of rules, but I have a hard time playing them solo too.

In any case, I look forward to more!

V/R,
Jack

Yes I really enjoyed that too. It's especially relevant right now as myself and a couple of pals (Jack above) are giving it a whirl. I think the TFL's suppliments are fantastic for providing scenarios taken from historical engagements that otherwise you may not try out. Sounds like you where interested for a long time in this aspect of the war though so I'm sure it was satisfying to see it played out.

Thanks for posting
