I interview mad Yorkshireman and Eureka Miniatures supremo Nic Robson, whose company creates everything from detailed historical masterpieces to eerie fantasy figures based on C16th German painters.

Also – a look at Jacklex figures from the seventies, hilarious Gamers' Tales, and Alyssa Fadden on the Ribauldequin (also known as a rabauld, ribault, ribaudkin, infernal machine or organ gun) a late medieval volley gun.

The webzine is new and I'm doing a lot of the writing for it. By which I mean 'interviewing my friends and asking people to tell funny stories.'

Very well done. He has always been a real gentleman, and it's rather refreshing to see he dresses the part.

Thank you for sharing this!

Thank you all, I just read it myself.
Howard has done a wonderful job of making me sound erudite and lucid, he is a very accomplished editor.
Love the Jacklex page too.

I'm one of the folks who did the 100 Club with Eureka. Nick was helpful through the long (to me) period of getting enough orders and getting the figures into production, during which I had problems with my computer talking to his (my work computer had no problems talking to him, though).

No better man in the hobby than Nic.

Top Bloke!

Ok, so Nic is not the worst bloke I have ever met :-) Is the photo meant to exclude most of his head? Good choice. Every visitor to Melbourne should drop by the shop, it is a circus of hilarity. I believe Nic can even juggle.

I've always wanted to ask how well the Eureka French Rev line is doing – it's a very ambitious project, and people are always telling us how the French Rev period just doesn't sell and can't be profitable.

Nic owns a suit?

Green Tiger03 Dec 2015 3:22 a.m. PST

He sure does – I can't watch the video at work but have seen him in a neat pin-stripe number !

Nic owns a suit?

It's a Nehru jacket. He also owns and strokes a white Persian cat :-)
