Interesting. A guy on Breakthrough Assault some days ago noted something interesting on the new plastic sprue:
If you look on the right-hand sprue you'll notice two gun tubes, one of which has a rather bulging bore evacuator! Might that be the 120mm gun tube for a M1A1? If so, the turret is missing a picky thing or two like the mounting point for the independent sight. But otherwise this might be a M1A1 modification piece. In other news I just watched the video from Beasts of War as they showed off the M113 sprues. Yup, it's a Vietnam kit with the mini-gun and the monster 106mm recoilless. An error perhaps? |

Even better Tgunner, if you look at the turret sprue, it provides 2 different stowage racks as well: the "short" version with the short stowage bins, and the "long" version with the rear stowage rack! It's hard to see on the hull sprue, but maybe I see a TC independent sight blanking plate, right below the .50Cal? Also 2 different rear skirt configurations, one of which will work for an M1A1. ONly downside is there are only 1 set of blow-off panels (IIRC these were different between the M1 & M1A1). With a little research and gumption, thinking these could be built as IPM1s as well! That's what I'll be doing! Damon. |

I want to say that the back bustle rack was only on the IP and the later models while the long racks were on the M1s. So yeah, I think they're giving us the parts to make several M1 marks. There isn't a blow-out panel sculpted into the turret, just a big hole. I see a piece on the spru that would fit but it's turned the wrong way to see how the panel is sculpted and I don't see another piece that would work. Hopefully they are giving us the ability to make the different marks! IP or A1, I'm torn. I cut my teeth on the IP but I spent most of my career on the A1. Decisions, decisions… |

Perhaps they are going to be coming out with a Desert Storm or similar game in the future as they have most of the Soviet kit they will need. I had to laugh when the panel could not identify the various Vietnam options on the M113 sprue. I'd suggest that there is no need to make another M113 kit as that one should cover every variant with just a TOW sprue thrown in. |

BF have said the sprue is future proofed, with the required pieces for later versions on the sprue. |

No. I'm just happy to see you. |

The only problem I have is how are they going to give us the Dragon to mount on the M113? Was it something that was left out of the Beasts of War video? 120mm isn't that big man… |

That's great, but only a few weeks ago we were being told that AT-4 Spigot and TOW launchers wouldn't be included in the BMP and M113 packs 'because they're not in Team Yankee'… |
