Anyone know which brand of standard WW2 figures best match the Dust troops? I've always liked the Dust mechs (especially the Axis ones) so took the plunge when FFG had that sale. I also lucked into an excellent (and cheap!) bundle on ebay and ended up with some of the infantry figures. I like some of the power armor guys, but want to have them supporting "regular" plain old grunts which would make up most of the forces. Much obliged! Darby |

DUST infantry are 1/48 and less heroically proportioned than popular 28mm ranges including Artizan, Crusader and Warlord, so go with smaller 28mm figures from BTD and Wargames Factory. |

Or… er, 1/48th figures? John T |

Scarab do 1/48 ww2 and weird war at that |

Ah, thanks guys! I thought they may have been some odd scale, like 1/45 or 1/39, as some of them measure oddly. |

Thought Warlord is 1/56, so wouldn't they be too small? Also, didn't they buy WF, so WF figures are no longer available? |

1/48 scale works out to about 36mm tall, so you'd want the tallest "28mm" minis you can find. Personally, I'd go with Tamiya etc 1/48 plastics, which will also give you a small range of traditional vehicles. |

I second the Tamiya 1/48 kits. |

I would go with Tamiya 1/48th as well. |

Thought Warlord is 1/56, so wouldn't they be too small? Also, didn't they buy WF, so WF figures are no longer available? Warlord vehicles certainly are 1/56. They did not buy WF, though they made some sort of exclusive distribution deal with them, so WF is no longer selling their own kits. You can still buy old WF stock from various retailers (though they are also more of 1/56 in scale). If you want actual 1/48 figures, the previous suggestions for Tamiya sound pretty sensible to me. |

My only worry with the Tamiya is the limit of poses. Some of them aren't really gaming poses either, ya know? |

Oh excellent Haywire, thank you. |

There is a huge range of 1/48 stuff available from Quarterkit either as resin kits or built and painted version. The built models are not cheap. Also Blitzkreig miniatures do 1/48 resin kits that are a lot simpler than the Quarterkit ones. They have things like a Maus that would do nicely for a Dust scenario. Finally Corgi did a small range of prepainted infantry to go with their die cast tanks. They are of a similar slim build to the Dust infantry so worth searching for any on eBay or similar sites. |

Thank you Fred. I dig that Maus, it's HUGE! |

Looks like the Dreamforge troops will also work. Shame that they're only scifi Germans right now. Otherwise, Projekt X, Incursion, and Victory Force all look to fit in. |
