Is anyone else bothered by the dark gray color the SW Armada imperial ships are painted? In the movies, the Imperials are a very light gray--almost white. But the Armada ships come in medium gray with darker gray accents, I don't like the looks at all. Repainting would be a major task, but I may end up doing that. |

I was bothered at first, but have stopped caring. I think the decision was probably made to just make them look a bit more interesting and have an excuse for multiple colors on the model. A light grey spray, and dark grey wash would probably make them look pretty alright for minimum effort though. |

I like the factory finish, because then with a quick drybrush with some Topside Grey and French Light Blue they really shine! |

I whitewash my imperials as well- like the white color. Note that TIE fighters were a greyish blue but that messed up the Blue board special effects so they were switched to white (IIRC). |

Yes, that's why I like dry-brushing my X-Wing TIEs with Russian Topside Blue. |

What brand of paints has "Russian Topside Blue?" |

Weren't the TIEs a grayish blue in Return of the Jedi? My biggest complaint at the moment is Home One seems way too small or the Rebel Assault Frigate is way too big. |

The original Star Destroyers were white in Star Wars or A New Hope depending on your age ;-). Only Darth Vaders 'Super Star Destroyer' was'Blue Grey' for no other reason to make it stand out from the other Imperial ships. TIE's were painted 'Stormy Sea Blue' from a now discontinued colour line from Pactra. Source Sculpting a Galaxy – Inside the Star Wars Model Shop. Lorne peterson. AJT |

Pactra would be wise to bring that color back as TIE fighter blue.:) |
