Any suggestions for good 15mm non space marines |

Ion Age Retained Knights, definitely have the best "space knight, shoulder pads" look, especially if you're going for beakies. Just ordered up another platoon of these myself. : link
Or, you could do worse than Khurasan's Post Apoc "Government forces in Powered Armor", if you want a less clean, grittier look, though the range is significantly smaller (basic troops with 1 gun, several support variants, heavy armor). I guess these guys would be epic Iron Warriors:
I've seen other ranges used, and they're serviceable, but the ranges like CMG's ARC fleet just feel too "Halo" and not enough "40k", in my opinion: link

I think the 15/18 Blue moon figures scream 40k. The Orion Republic
not space marines Universalist Command
Not Eldar. There are others that proxy well also. |

I like the GZG UNSC Hardsuits, and the NSL ones too. Of course, those Orion Troopers above are quite nice too. |

Khurasans Government power armour
And with a little effort they can look like this

Just for ease and simplicity I would go with the Ion Age Retained Knights ala beaky space marines. |

Another vote for the Laserburn imperials. |

I find the Ion Age knights to be much too slender. It's a shame, they'd work well otherwise. And that doesn't look like "a little effort", Gunner. But yes, they are very nice conversions! I also vote Laserburn Imperials, around the middle of the page: link |

The 15mm.co.uk imperial soldiers work very well too. |

Bear in mind, original style "beakie" marines were pretty slender. |

I have about 30 "not space marines" someone on the gruntz forum sold me. i pretty much asked the same thing the op here asked, and someone said "i have these that were made, and gw sent them a "quit it" letter". they are pretty close(alot closer than anything here), big shoulder pads, thick armor suits, backpack power plants. the only problem is they are bear headed. i tried to make "beakie" helms, but i'm terrible at green stuffing. i did a few, then stopped. if i could get a 15mm beakie helm made and cast for under $100 USDusd, i would do it to have a uniqe space marine unit for gruntz. |

Not seeing it with the Laserburn guys….Maybe better pics than on their website? |

John is probably referring to the old line of MJ Figures' "Space Troopers." They've been OOP for years, but if you can find them are great 15mm marines. They are a bit on the small side though. |
Jimboba | 01 Dec 2015 4:14 p.m. PST |
Yep. They are the closest but small compared to current offerings.

john lacour | 01 Dec 2015 7:53 p.m. PST |
that them(sans the shields). did you green stuff the helms? |
Jimboba | 02 Dec 2015 5:14 p.m. PST |
Nope. They came that way. Off the top of my head there were about a dozen or more sculpts with a mix of helmet and not. I bought them about 20 years ago! I only painted these ones last year. The rest are primed in a very long paint queue. |

none of the figures i recieved had helms. or shields. |

Ion Age Desteria are my choice for not-Marines: link |
