Can anybody make any recommendations? A friend asked me for info and this isn't my period. He is a model train guy and wants them to be compatible to N Scale, I think.
Thanks!

Pendraken has a huge line of 10mm miniatures.

Minifigs has a pretty decent range too.

Both Pendraken and Minifigs make ranges suitable for " Western Front". Pendraken do figures specially for BEF, as well as 8th Army, paratroopers and some more generic figures:

The Minifigs range is more generic:

Personally I like the Minifigs sculpts, the Pendraken are a bit chunkier and less well proportioned anatomically, but I have lots of both ranges. The Pendraken paint up very easily and suit my "dry brushing" style. I useboth ranges in conjunction with afvs from Arrowhead, Minifgs and the Japanese companies such as Dragon, Takara etc. I find the Pendraken vehicles to be a bit on the small side in relation to the figures, but they do a great range.
I too am an N gauge railway modeller and these models fit well with my British engines and rolling stock.
Beware of the Skytrex stuff, often advertised on EBay as "10mm"; it is actually about 1/200 scale so far too small for N gauge (which is around 1/150 depending on whether British or Continental).

Just looked at your original post again; did you mean WW1 Western Front? If so, then forget about Minifigs, except for guns and odd tanks.
Pendraken do WW1, most of participating nations:

Magister Militum also do British, French, Turkish, German, French and Belgian.

Don't have this range, but the Crimean War figures I have are a bit taller than the Pendraken but are good figures.

Sorry if my original answer was off track; I tend to think of Eastern Front as WW2, so may have been confused!

I also like the minifig figures and I have a large selection of them.

Thanks, all. Yes, he was asking about WW2. Will pass the information along.

I suggest for vehicles Arrowhead formerly Wargames South, mini-figs and pithead. Pendraken vehicles are a bit smaller in size, great if you buy all Pendraken which make very nice stuff.

Infantry, I would recommend Pendraken, Arrowhead formerly wargames South, and pithead. They all mix well, not a fan of mini figs infantry in this scale, too old school.
