In 1784 corsairs attacked the Betsy, a 300 ton brig schooner that had sailed from Boston to Tenerife Island, about 100 miles off the North African coast. Renamed the Meshuda, she became the flagship of the Admiral of Tripoli Murad Reis. She fought an action against a small Danish fleet in 1797 and gave US squadrons trouble during the Barbary wars with Tripoli and Algiers.

I use fishing fly tying threads, 6/0 and 8/0 weights Julian. They don't stretch or fuzz over time. |
