Just doing some reading on De La Rey. Seems to be a divide in perceptions of Del La Rey, one hand says he was a hero and brilliant leader of men (Lion of the West Transvaal) while others say the opposite. Anyone have any opinion either way?

The author of his Wiki article seems to think that he was one of the strongest Boer leaders.

But I have no opinion one way or the other.
