Well to answer a couple of those…

Default position will always be support of a NATO member until there is a clear reason not to do so.

Turkey has the EU over a barrel right now as it is the one nation that can stem the flow of refugees from Syria…and is also provided bases for the fight.

Hence I guess some blind eyes are being turned with regards the Kurds.

The west doesn't control its media nor does it routinely murder journalists who speak out against the people in charge..

Ergo the media is more reliable.

Routinely? Perhaps not, but I'm sure Michael Hasting's ghost would argue that "infrequently" is still too often.
