Here are some pictures from our Anglo-Zulu War game that we played yesterday. We used the Soldiers of the Queen rules and it went pretty well.

The Zulus ended up outflanking the British on both sides.

The 24th is having a tough time in the center while the right has pushed the Zulus back.

It won't last long.

The game was a lot of fun. Tense at times, at least for this British player, as the Zulus closed with periods of relief as the Zulus were pushed back and then tense again as they regrouped for another charge.

The game really had the feel of determining where to put your resources and what threat to stop next before another one burst through your dam.

In the end we were overrun. The 60th collapsed, as did the 24th in the center, leaving only one company of 24th on the hill and the Boers guarding the laager unbroken.

You're welcome Clif. It was a lot of fun. It was neat not knowing how we were going to stop the Zulus, and in the end not being able to.

The figures are actually all Empress Miniatures.

A great looking game, Pictors. The board looks great, as do the minis!
