I just painted the mounted Austrian infantry officers French Revolutionary Wars which Sho Boki sculpted very nicely, mounted on the superb AB horses,Sho sculpted very nicely the folds of the coat tails and pockets.

It was a pleasure to paint them

Very nice VW! The horses are really well sculpted, but aren't they small (asking, not nit-picking).

In my view they are the only horses which have the right size – usually all others show breeds of obstacle jumbers of 21st century – for model soldiers one ends often – alas – with dwarfs on elephants.

Read something smaller horses are stronger, more endurance. Often what cavalry would look for.
Not sure generals who have several would chose the same on battlefielfd though. Speed and height mightbbe locally useful.

Thanks for the reference, Von Winterfeldt! I was just looking at the French regs for horses…I'll have to try and dig that out. Frog, I believe the Russian horses tended to be smaller (or at least some of them), with increased endurance. I'll try to dig that one up too.
