Somehow this topic got lost and mixed up so here is a second try. Pauls has found in reserch for maneouver Group lists that some Marders 1 A2's can be fitted with mine ploughs 0r Doser blades. Has anybody got a picture of the same and or the numbers involved.

Does this mean I have to get Shipyards to make me some add ons. Are Minfigs marders accurate enough or do I have to get a new Marder model made as well.

I've never seen one with that.

The Minifigs Marder is a post-Cold War variant, sadly, at least for those of us interested in the Cold War.

Same goes for the Wargames South/Arrowhead model.

Hi,

I have to second Mako11.
Never saw any Marder with a Dozer or Mineplough, not even with a carrier-plate or similar attachment for it.
Just had a fast look through the book "Schützenpanzer Marder – Die technische Dokumentation des Waffensystems" and couldn't find a photo of such an arrangement in it. During my rushed look I also did not find a text passage mentioning it.

What I know is that the Argentinian Army did fit a Mine-Roller to the VCTP which was derived from the SPz Marder. At last I am not sure how many were fitted with it or fitted with an attachment to deploy it if needed.

Cheers,
Benjamin

I also don't recall seeing them on any Leopards either, other than the ARV variant.

Hmm, Leopards (1 & 2) came and still come with dozer and/or mineclearing devices from time to time. The Danish Army fielded them with their Leopard 1 versions and the Canadians had Leopard 1 and 2 fitted with it, just to give two examples.

But you are right referring to the Germans, they do not use such attachments on their MBTs (except some testing) and only have dozerblades fitted to their Leopard AEVs and different blades to the Leopard ARVs.
