Hi all, Advise wanted……I'm looking to play some modern European conflicts. I'm looking at using the great looking 3mm micro armour but not sure on rules….
For rules, I'm happy with platoon base elements as the basic unit, I'll just use an appropriate sized base per platoon.
I'm looking at Battlegroup sized games, so are we battalions both sides, with air support.
Also are there any good online OrBats? Thanks |

If I can self-advertise a tad, my own FiveCore Brigade Command will hook you right up. Stands are companies though, with platoon sized attachments, but you can play a brigade per side very quickly and easily (about an hour to hour and a half) Includes unit attachments and off-board assets for everything from air strikes to commando raids. link |

For platoon base elements, you are really looking at Cold War Commander, recently acquired by Pendraken miniatures. |

There's also modern spearhead and I (think) the most recent Command Decision does moderns as well. |

Pretty sure there's a Strike Legion Planetary Ops spplement for moderns, at a platoon per base. |

There's actually a lot of rules that use Platoon bases that are suitable for 3mm. The best one IMO for the level you're after is Fistful of TOWs. There is a bit of a review of a number of rules sets on my blog (back a few months). The blog will also give you some idea of what 3mm games look like:

Hey Weasel, I haven't played again, other than some solo situational experiments. Mainly just through a shortage of opponent in recent months. There is a lot to like for fast play higher level actions. I'll be re-visiting the rules soon with a few games over the Christmas holidays :) Bish |
