So, I'm thinking I'll do a DBA Roman army. Then I figure I might as well do a double army. Then I thought it wouldn't be too much trouble to do a triple DBA army if I was going to do a double army. Then last night I was thinking a Basic Impetus army using roughly 3" bases would look nice… I have this "inflation" problem with everything that I would like to keep at the small/DBA level. I'm not alone in this, am I? |

When Galleys & Galleons came out this summer, I thought I needed maybe a dozen WizKids pirate ships to play it. I now have close to 300 and am trying to decide if I should fork out over $50 USD for one of the big 10-masters. And that's the most recent example. |

There will always be a new regiment I haven't painted yet. |

No, it is entirely normal. When you have more figures than you can possibly use in a game you should try to restrict yourself to special units/figures. But it doesn't really matter if you don't manage this. |

Adding a regiment here and there is usually not the issue. He went from a DBA army to an expanded triple DBA/Impetus army before, I assume, he even started! Do a DBA army then add units/elements is normal. It's the old "I'll just do a platoon a side…but if I buy a division per side think how much I'll save in postage…" |

Wimp. You need triple sized armies… and 6 of them to fight triple sized 6 player campaigns… (Err, yes. Some of us have the same issues are you. Ahem…) Joe Collins |

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahah. Hahahahahahahahaahhaahahaha! Hahahahah. Come cry to me when you have over 30,000 figures. Until then, what are you whining about? : ) |

Obviously you need double sized DBA Roman armies, how are you going to do Roman civil war battles otherwise? |

Damn, I've "rediscover" medievals thanks to Lion Rampant and Saga. And gloriously affordable plastics. The issue isn't even an issue with me. I remember when I was a child, my mother would take me downtown (when high end retail dept stores were located there) and I would stare in wonder at the Elastolin 40's but at .50 cents each in 1966 is too much for a boy of my means with a dah overseas a lot. But she would take me up to Shillitoes in Cincinnati and I would stare in wonder. Wish I could find the castles and manor houses, and see if anyone has done a Saga or a LR "siege game". Of course over the edge with bad accents and gratuitous violence and wine, must have wine. |

I build no DBA collection smaller than three standard armies. Most of the time I end up doing five armies so I can do giant games at the local club with five players on the side. . I started the very British civil war with about 100 figures, now I have 1200. I started the Sword and flame Boxer rebellion with five units and now have 50. I don't believe I can ever keep small. |

Usually try to do 2 opposing armies at a time. Even if i already have opposition for them. So I can stay sort of small. Especially since only do a few armies a year. |

The two conventions in the Denver area each have a DBA tournament. Tacticon is standard DBA and Genghiscon id Big Battle. With that the logical decision is to go the BBDBA route and have the capability to use the figures in both tourneys. And then there are holiday sales… |
