I am building up my air forces for use with Check Your Six. My first major project in 1/600 will be the south Pacific, using the CY6 scenario book Road to Rabaul. Here is the first batch of planes done.

A man after my own heart, I've got pretty much the same setup, though yours look ten times better than mine.

Good looking minis, Nathaniel. How did Milleniumcon go? Sorry I wasn't able to make it down there.

Jack

Very nice painting at any scale but especially impressive at 1/600

Very nice and the stands are really well done. Glad to see you are thinking about doing Burma next, its one of my favourite air war theaters.

One small point the Japanese were the only Air Force, well forces Army & Navy*, not to adopt the pair as their tactical formation sticking to the Vic of three planes right to the end of the war.

*Obligatory disclaimer about "Gendas Blades" a single group of Japanese Navy fighters who switched to the pair/four formation in the last months of the war. ;-P

Kewl, they look lovely.

Thanks!

@Just Jack: The convention was a fun time. Plenty of games and vendors and a good flea market on Sunday. I bought a few 15mm figures from Darkest Star. We'll have to get a game in next year! I think I'll run 15mm sci-fi and probably a Pacific air combat game.

Glad to hear it worked out for you; I assume your "A Sergeants War" games were a hit?

I should be coming down your way next summer on vacation again, we'll have to see if we can link up, or maybe at another Con. I've still never been to a wargaming con (or any other kind of con, for that matter!).

Jack

Just Jack: Well, one game had no players and the other had 2, so meh showing. But oh well---that happens sometimes! Serves me right for running Pacific War infantry fights without the marines…

Well, that stinks, but you're right: gotta have Marines ;)

Jack
