I was surprised to note that the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot has not generated a thread on here, especially with the recent release of Crooked Dice's Paranormal Exterminators expansion to their popular 7TV game.

However, this thread is not here to discuss the relative pros and cons of the reboot, as it seems to provoke a lot of negativity on other forums and we're all adults here…

So, my question is, were you in charge of casting a NEW Ghostbusters film, either with or without the original cast members, who would you choose to be the new generation of Ghostbusters? There are a lot of talented actors out there, but who do YOU think would bring the necessary mix of humour and action, without violating the underlying feel of the movies?

Release the worms!

Tilting at windmills: it cannot be done. The first film was quite a laugh. The second was drivel so…. if that 're-tread' didn't work with original actors, why would anyone think that a new 're-boot' would work better?

Hollywood…. Paucity of ideas… Lack of imagination…. yadda yadda yadda

The most important decision to ensure it's awful is to get Peter Jackson or JJ Abrams involved with it: that should deliver the kiss of death!

Wonder if they will giving any of the original cast a "walk on"?

Kanye West, Jared Leto, Peter Stormare and Will Ferrell.

Or just let it be…

A couple have already said they are, Bill Murray was the first one to do so. Which I found a surprise.

As for this one, it has gimmick written all over it.

As with many 'remakes,' doesn't augur well…

Carmen Electra and others…..

As only two respondees have actually entered into the spirit of the thread, I thought it time to add my own cast(s).

For an American 'franchise', so spinning off from and acknowledging the original movies, I would cast: Rainn Wilson, Ed Helms, Zach Galifiankis and Terry Crews.

For a British 'franchise': Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Richard Ayoade and Mackenzie Crook.

I'll let the original stay as THE Ghostbuster movie but that British cast, (assuming it would be set in the U.K.) would get me out to the theatre.

Well it not the cast of the upcoming movie that is for sure.

That movie is going to suck big time.
