Hi all, I've been busy rebasing and painting some new additions to round out a 6 point Saxon warband/army for Saga. Most of the figures are from Crusader and are a treat to paint.

The hearthguard are mixed into the units of warrior's I believe? Nice job on excellent figures! |

Yes, GoodoleRebel is correct, I have mixed some hearthguard in with the warriors to give myself the option of fielding them. Skipperjohn, I'll be running them at 4 of 10 at first but will probably try some variations and run a larger group of 12 or so as I get a better feel for the Battleboard. Thanks chaps! Glad you like them. |

i routinely run my AS warband without HG. really no point for them as all the battle board abilities are for large units. |

Having just played a game with 4 units of warriors I have to tel you, it's not easy. The SAGA dice don't always want to be your friends when you need to get those axes to activate them. You dont want to waste the helmets because they have better uses. Horses won't work. And you need at least one spare axe dice to use Shieldwall. Also, if you group your 5pts of warriors into units of 10 they only generate 4 saga dice instead of 5. It sounds good. It looks good, and it can work. But it is difficult. |

Hmm food for thought there Ian, thanks for the input. Will have to get a few games under my belt with these guys now and go from there. I do have Hearthguard available to me so can do some trial and error.. It gives me more of an excuse to play more games that way too! |
