Having received a small hills worth of miniatures recently from Splintered Light, I thought I would write up a small review of the 15mm Skeleton Centaurs and Skeleton Centaur Archers.

First off these are sold in sets of 6 for $8. USD
They are nice clean miniatures for the most part with only the occasional piece of flash that easily cleaned with a razor knife.

The minis come in two parts (horse half/human half) and when assembled are very nice looking. For the Archers I do wish for more than the two poses of each half, but by mix-matching it gives you four poses so it's all good. For the 'regular" Skeleton Centaurs there is supposed to be 3 poses. I only received one of the sword wielding ones as opposed to the spear carriers, but that was fine with me as he stands out as a commander.

It would be nice if the minis were available as like armed sets, (like all the skelies wielding spears etc) as I am building fairly large units, but I also understand the reality of producing and packing minis for a small company.

Notes on assembling:
These minis can be a touch finicky as the human spine part needs to be bent slightly and inserted into a hole at the base of the horses "neck" area. I recommend using a pin vise to slightly enlarge and deepen the hole and using a fine pair of pliers to slightly bend the bottom end of the spine prior to assembling in order to provide a better fit and look.

Be careful of bending the spin too far, as it will break off if not handled carefully. If this does happens (I had 1 do this out of 18 minis) the best fix is to use a pin vise to drill a hole in the human torso part and use a thick paperclip to make the spine connection between the two halves

These are good minis from a good company in my opinion

Thanks for the review. Yes, the challenge of 15mm skeletons is how fiddly and breakable they are!

David,
I've had one (1) issue, so far, out of the 483 some-odd minis I have purchased from you recently. Your minis are top notch, the weapons are proportional to the mini carrying it (something I forgot to mention in the above review)and the detail is VERY good considering it is not only 15mm but 15mm skeletons…
