Today I went to Walmart and purchased two 12 ounce cans of Rustoleum gray spray plastic primer. They cost me $8.34 USD total, including tax. I used to use Tamiya primer, it's $7.58 USD including tax, but only 3.3 ounces!

So I got 24 ounces for just about the price of 4 ounces of Tamiya paint. Thanks to John the OFM and to Winston Smith for directing me to the quality and price of Walmart spray paints. I use generic Walmart spray paint primer for everything except soft plastic troops, which is what I am painting now. Those generic spray paints are only a dollar!

I use the white for the same price.

I also use their white for primer and a flat clear coat for sealer. Good price, good job.

I use em too. Have been doing so for at least 10-15 years. Great value.

I'm all in favor of saving a buck, but Walmart is an evil job-killer and wage-depressor and small-business destroyer, so I will not shop there myself. I look for bargains elsewhere or choose to support local businesses and keep the money at home in some way. It's cheaper in the long run and larger picture. My personal choice.

I love Walmarts paints and buy them all the time. I use the grey, white and black for primer depending on the effect I am after.

I use the 98 cent flat black….

As do I, but for plastics. I find the Walmart dollar cans work really well with 2 thin coats over plastics, but not quite as well with metal.

For metal figs I use Duplicolor sandable primer which I get from my local Pep Boys for about 6 bucks a can.

I happen to agree with TSD101 and go with Duplicolor. Their primer wears like armor and is amazingly smooth. I don't paint plastics, so never tried Walmart paint with plastics, but disliked it on metal.

In my area the only store Walmart put out of business is K-Mart.
