Hi everyone, I am new here, so hoping I have posted in the right area. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place I can get 28mm heads wearing burgonets? Or at least 28mm heads with burgonets on torsos (preferably in plastic) that I can saw off? Odd thing, but other than the failed Pro Gloria Landsnechts and a host of metal miniatures (I don't usually work with metal) I cannot find any 1600's plastic figures with helmets! Or better yet, separate heads! …Distinct lack of burgonets… ho-hum. This conversion project might have to go on hold until someone like Perry brings out the much awaited 28mm plastic 1600's stuff. :-( |

Afaik you are on your own here. There are no plastic sets for that era, so no conversion sets. The ironic thing with the Pro Gloria set is that the heads shown for that plastic set were historical unfitting, as these helmets were not (or only very rarely) used by Landsknechts. There is a small number of 30yw style helmets in Warlord Games ECW-set that might serve for conversions. |

Redoubt makes separate metal ECW helmeted heads: link You get a selection in the pack. |

I cannot find any 1600's plastic figures with helmets! The only 28 mm plastics available for the 17th century Europe are the Warlord ECW boxes (cavalry, infantry and firelock storming party). Those figures come with head and torso as one part, but the headgear (hats and helmets) are separate – and as Puster mentioned, Warlord also does some packs of alternative metal headgear to go with those figures. |

Thanks for all your help guys! :-) It looks like Redoubt wins. Though I have ordered from them only once before and got awful problems… Took a good couple of months to get my order. Hopefully this time will be different… Cheers all! :-) |

Your best bet is Bicorne Miniatures, who have various sets of separate heads in helmets, but also produce some packs of figures with nice examples of the burgonet (the "Scots Convenanter lancers in helmets" set is particularly good). James is very helpful, and if you tell him exactly what you want, I am sure he can sort something out for you at a reasonable price. link link |
