Last Weekend was the wargame convention Fall In, in Lancaster PA. I ran an 8 player Frostgrave game. It was chaotic but fun. I was previously blogging about putting the table together and building the terrain, but I fell way behind in my schedule so blogging was set aside. I was so far behind that I was painting sections of the table and terrain, the morning we were leaving. So here's pics of the Good Warbands used and some custom treasure tokens.
The Enchanter
The Druid(Witch)
The Cleric. This is a custom warband themed after a AD&D 1st ed Cleric, with Custom Spells.
The Elementalist
Treasure tokens. A few more pics and write ups of figures used on my blog: link Xin Next up will be Team Evil. |

Thinking about running a game at Fall In, any tips on keeping it moving with a bunch of players? |

I played in this game on Saturday night, it was a blast (I was on the "good" side as the elementalist). The GM (Xin, aka Jeff) was great; he kept the warbands simple and explained the rules clearly before the game. After that,he answered rules questions and ensured we were all on the correct phase. By round 3, we were playing with minimal GMing, a testament to the rules and the prep by Xin. |

JLundberg, What helped was having only 2 sides. I set up a Good vs Evil scenario. So I would call out, "Good Wizards turn" then "Evil Wizards Turn", "Good Apprentices" etc, etc. Down thru the initiative order. Early on I was aggressively pushing the next phase as soon as the other side went. That set the pace of the game and the players ran with it. The game was on auto pilot by turn 4. I just hung out to answer rules questions. Thanks Prince Albert. I had a great group of players for both games. Everyone just wanted to try out the rules, no one had played a game, but they all picked up the rules quick. Xin |
