Yes – there is a new force for New force for Hammer's Slammers – The Crucible

picture

Using a mix of vehicles from existing ranges within Brigade Model's brigademodels.co.uk/15mmSF EuroFed, PacFed and American Republic ranges, plus turrets from the Mercenary range and a new heavy tank (well, with a new hull, anyway) the Legion have 'upped their game'.

After many years campaigning as a mercenary force for hire, the Alaudae Legion have reequipped and have a more aggressive – and more technically advanced – highly mechanised elite force, able to take on the best of the opposition they may be paid to fight – and beat.

The Legion – led by Colonel Cornelius Dark – are an elite Frankish unit from New Gallia. They have fought in many mercenary campaigns for a variety of employers and have often found themselves supporting other Frankish forces – such as the Compagnie de Barthe and the Division Legere – in what became know as the Gallic League.

Brigade will be putting packs together for this force on their website to make them easier to purchase as soon as they recover from their trip to Crisis!

The new Alaudae Legion should be the match of any of the later forces in The Crucible.

For me Brigade just cannot do anything wrong at the moment. Loving all the stuff they do.

I can't argue with you there, Stealth1000

Nice, and a good buying guide too. Any teasing what your working on next?

John Treadaway08 Nov 2015 2:36 p.m. PST

@ McWong

I have two things on the 'front burner' and a few on the 'back ring'.

On the front are:

a) finishing the Thunderbolt updates (Ainsty are awaiting the sculpting of a couple of vehicles to get that done). When they are done, it will mean that the Broglies and several others will get updates as well (what with the Tank Destroyers Ainsty had made a few months ago).

b) Work on forces the Drake book "Forlorn Hope" with Cecach Federals and Republic forces based on existing and new vehicles from Brigade.

The Back Burner… I can't say at the moment!

Fantastic merc's with more bang it don't get much better than that in the Slammerverse, I am really looking forward to seeing the newer forces from the "Forlorn Hope" book, some good reading here to JT… Now the embers have been rekindled for me to carry on with my custom mercenary unit "Braham's Brigade" I put them on hold for the past few weeks to catch up on some unfinished work and a sudden interest in a new Rebel miniatures Valonian force for Gruntz. :) zac

Coming to this a bit late as always, but it's been a busy week …

As John mentioned, the Alaudae vehicles are a mix of existing models and some new bits. We're just finishing off the final production moulds and painting up samples, then the new items will be on the website so you'll be able to buy all of the models needed for a detachment. And we should have some other (unconnected) new 15mm items as well grin
