Oui!

It's sad – at the beginning of WW2, France had the largest, and some ways best, tank force in the world. The French military had little idea how to use them though (save a few officers like de Gaulle).

Sent them off in small groups to face massed Panzers…

An excellent build of one of the best tanks in the late 30's to early 40's…

I cannot agree with this more. France had good army and well trained soldiers of high spirit. This army was wasted by poor leadership in the upper echelons.

BTW, in case you did not get it from my previous post, this is my favorite tank in the French Army of 1940.

I don't so much blame the French for losing in 1940. The Germans won by getting inside the French OODA loop as it is known.

The German strategy was also a huge risk that paid off. A bit like putting everything on black in roulette. If it works you look like a genius.

As the war progressed, massed tank formations became more and more balanced and the tank became much more of a team player rather than the star.

A lot of what is generally believed about the 1940 campaigns has been called into question.

It was combined arms and radio communications that defeated the French in 1940.

And don't buy into the de Gaule myth. His minor successes in 1940 were overblown. He was in the right place at the right time to become leader of the Free French. His post war policies for France were disastrous.

BTW – nice model, thanks for posting.
