Hi all, title says it all, I'm looking for some 'modern' looking camelry to do as Jordanian Arab Legion (novelty recce unit) for 1948/1956 games. I've checked out the 6mm manufacturers websites, but the figures always seem too small to be discernible, as an option for either a paint or physical conversion. Come on you 6mm gamers, who may have seen the figures in the flesh, please give me some clues or recommendations. Thanks in anticipation Paul F |

It's a kinda pain and costly but it works well: take the guy throwing the grenade from GHQs US Vietnam Infantry(he is the over-sized one that does not fit in with the rest) cut off the base, adjust the arms and place him on a camel from the Middle East Civilians pack- you can buy just sprues of camels and there you have it. I made a dozen and they look pretty decent. Good Luck |

Thanks guys. Unfortunately GHQ is prohibitively expensive from the UK. |

Have you had a look at Baccus, they do camel mounted troops in their Colonial range. |

Yes, as do Wargames Emporium, but the current price per pack is £8.40 GBP before postage, too rich for me, unless it's some special vehicle I can't get elsewhere. |

Many thanks all. Been in contact with Peter at Baccus, who are attending the Battleground show at Stockton later this month. Going to view the British Camel Corps and Mahdist camelry there to see which has best conversion potential. They will also sell me a pack of kneeling camels without the dismounted crew (I'm going to use Mainforce Afghans for the dismounted troops) |
