Hi guys,

I'm looking to start shipping stuff that is much heavier that I ever have before. What' the most economical way to ship stuff around 9lbs from the US to the UK in a 12in x 12in x 4in box?

I'm looking to get it in under the $88 USD USPS large flat rate box price. UPS was sending me prices around $180 USD and up and I know that can't be my only options.

Any help or experiences welcome!

Had a quick around found: transglobalexpress

transglobalexpress.co.uk, from above value gave £32.95 GBP (approx $53 USD) to deliver USA to UK. Company would use DHL to do delivery.

Unless you absolutely need 12x12, you can use the medium size international priority (13 5/8x11 7/8x 3 3/8) for about $66.00 USD – the box being about 95% of the volume you quoted.

From what I remember having 2 dimensions, over 12 inches, is the tipping point.

12" is a tipping point that increases your costs quite bit with USPS. I assume you have a product that measures 12" (or 11" with padding)?

Yup, my stuff needs a 12" x 12" box, hence the question :)

I think I found my answer in Mad Mecha Guy's info. Thanks gents!
