The beret looks a bit tall from base to top, more of the American modern style. British berets initially did not use badge backing to make the front stand up, and the result is much flatter. He looks like he could carry a stone of potatoes in that, otherwise, nice. |

Looks fine to me – the WWII beret was bigger and fuller than the ones issued from the 1950's on up. And they didn't have to 'shrink' them in hot water like we did :) TMP link |
