I wonder if anyone has run across model buildings for the Italian Wars or Italy in general. In my experience Northern Italy has a different sort of architecture than most NW Europe wargames buildings offer.

That is my impression as well. More of a Mediterranean feel to the architecture. I've begun making some of my own out of card stock, textured paint, wood for doors and windows. Got four small residential buildings to start, and looking to make a couple with courtyards, stables, maybe even a church. I imagine they could be used for more than just the Renaissance Italian Wars era, too.

Warbases makes a Modular Building System for the European Mediterranean area.

I haven't tried them, but noticed them on Olicanalad's Games Blog:

I haven't got those particular buildings from Warbases but I have other buildings from them which are very good and I did look at these on their trade stand.
I would recomend Warbases as a company – they are very good quality and reasonably priced and they are very helpful and friendly too!

Najewitz Modellbau has a perfect range in 15 mm and in 1/72. The 1/72 scale may also be used with 28 mm.

The Warbases blanks work very well. They make for good sized (underscale) wargames buildings with 28mm fixtures and fittings.

The Church was scratch built but they allow for a higgledy piggledy Italian / Mediterranean towns to be built. I actually did mine to double for Spain, as I'm just starting a Peninsular War collection.

Biggest tip, use artists heavy body acrylic (tubed) to daub your walls. Much better than any plaster PVA mixes I've used in the past.

Miniature Building Authority makes pirate/caribbean buildings that actually look more Mediterranean.
