I know it's not wargaming – although it does have a war dance – but it's only once every four years, so well done to the ABs. Loved the final haka in front of the trophy.

Incidentally, what determines which haka is used? Why do the ABs change theirs from time to time?

Heard about it,and the Maori haka ritual too .

Congratulations! We have a high school football team here in Texas that uses the haka before each game. Apparently have a lot of Samoans in the area. They have done rather well in the last few play-offs.

The Ka Mate haka – the one traditionally used is not just an AB haka. It is used all over the shop for all sorts of reasons. Last time I did it was at a funeral. Kapa a Pango was developed especially for the ABs back in the mid 2000s when Tana Umaga was captain. I still remember the first time they brought it out. They use it now for the big games against the big foes.

THis was the best response I have seen in my life – and there have been some fantastic responses to the haka. One of the reasons we love the Welsh team here in NZ – I think they would win any poll here as favourite six nations team.

I did a blog post on haka a few years back

What does Kapoo pango mean:
YouTube link
Kapa o pango kia whakawhenua au i ahau!
Let me become one with the land

Hi aue, hi!
Ko Aotearoa e ngunguru nei!
This is our land that rumbles

Au, au, aue ha!
And it's my time! It's my moment!

Ko Kapa o Pango e ngunguru nei!
This defines us as the All Blacks

Au, au, aue ha!
It's my time! It's my moment!

I ahaha!
Ka tu te ihiihi
Our dominance

Ka tu te wanawana
Our supremacy will triumph

Ki runga ki te rangi e tu iho nei,
tu iho nei, hi!
And will be placed on high

Ponga ra!
Silver fern!

Kapa o Pango, aue hi!
All Blacks!

Ponga ra!
Silver fern!

Kapa o Pango, aue hi, ha!
All Blacks!

Yes the All Blacks played superbly and thoroughly deserved their win. No doubt who's the world champions in every sense.

I'm still very proud of the Wallabies though – played a fast attacking game throughout, as per, and gave the ABs a few tense moments. Next time!

Yes, well done to the All Blacks.

It was an entertaining game and worthy of a WC Final. Two very well coached sides giving everthing.

One among the greatest rugby match i've seen, and it takes two teams to have a great match. The Haka is always a great moment and this one was very strong. The Kapa 0 Pango is normally for the big teams, as Brian wrote, although it was sung against my team, les Bleus, before it was wiped out by the Blacks, not so a big foe, unfortunately.
On the first video posted by Brian, we can see a Maori with blonde hair, called Jerry Collins. He died in a car accident in France this early summer, the police inquiry proved that he died in protecting his young baby girl. His former All Black mates playing here did a Haka to honour him on the very place where he died with his wife.

Franch du Leon – France will never be a small foe to us. They are the one team that we never know how we will do against them. I remember when you guys won three tests in a row against us. That didn't count those two times you bundled us out of World Cups.

So sad to see that Jonah Lomu has died only a couple of weeks after he was over here (in the UK) working during the RWC.

A true legend of the game, and a nice guy to boot. Never forget the pizza ad where he steals food off the Underwood brothers and then gets "hand-bagged" by their mum!
