Mmm, can't see the point myself. You can mix Pendraken's 10mm sci-fi with Hawks if you are really bothered, so don't think there is anything devious about Hawks choice of scale. If anthing it is likely to lead to more manufacturers adding a 10mm sci-fi range IMHO. Still your figures look nice. |

"6mm infantry = Color coded rice grains, right?" WRONG! NO! Certainly not lately. |

"Mmm, can't see the point myself." I guess the point is £11.00 GBP for 3 Sabre MBT against £1.00 GBP for 1 MBT at Brigade Models… I'm not saying HWG models aren't great looking but they're not 267% nicer… You mileage my vary, off course. As for Pendraken 10mm Sci Fi, unless I'm missing something, they range isn't that extensive and hardly able to provide proxies for DZC. |

As for the (intentionnaly provocating) "rice grains" statement, I stand by it but I'm willing to qualify it… - Yes, they are awesomely sculpted 6mm miniatures out there and equally awesomely painted ones; - Yes, I want to KNOW that the models I play with are nice looking, I want to be able to pick them up and admire them at 20cm/8" distance or so; - BUT, at the typical distance I see them while gaming (60cm/2' to 90cm/3') they appear about twice as small as your typical rice grain in my plate, which mean color "coding" (as in different types of troops have different uniform colours or at the very least different headgear colours, not just insignia) and number of miniatures per base are actually (for me, with my admitedly less than perfect eyesight) the factors allowing me to differanciate units. |
