This little boat from Navwar is either a small xebec or felucca. Most feluccas are two masts while this model has three, so I am leaning towards a small xebec. This little boat has 12 guns.

That certainly puts things in perspective. Good work on all of them. |

Hi Vol, I see the yards are set low/high alternate. Can I ask why? By the way I love this ship too. Be safe Rory |

She would definitely fit in as a Barbary Pirate. |

Alternating the peaks was the most efficient way to set lateens with the wind right abaft, since there was much less interference between the sails. Plus, it looks nice.
Not very effective with the wind abeam, though. Beautiful work, Vol. |

Very cool Vol, they look awesome! Am I right in thinking the sails and masts are of your own construction? They look great. I love the colors, and the sail setting looks really cool. |

Yes James, sails, masts and spars scratch built. It would indeed be huge Yellow Admiral if it was a penny, but it is actually a quarter. I guess the lamp and my camera tarnished it a bit, but it is Washington's head not Lincoln's. Thanks for the nice remark. It was fun to build. |
