I frequent a cool blog called Fantasy Toy Soldiers. The other day they had this post:

These aren't the previous Egyptian-ish skellies like many of us 54mm fantasy skirmish fans already have. 16 troops in 4 poses for $2 USD!

So off to Party City I went. They are great…and cheap! I called it quits at 5 bags. I am going to convert a good many of them for more variety.

Here is a UK source where I nabbed the pic from:

They are mass produced so I imagine you would find them in most full scale Halloween shops wherever you might be.

While there I scored myself one of the skeletal spiders you might have seen on the shelves:

This guy is about 9 inches wide from leg tip to leg tip. Perfect for a giant spider in 54mm.

I know what you are saying. Spiders don't have skeletons. Who cares!? It rocks.

They also have a scorpion which I would really like to find.

I got the spider for $5 USD at Party City. Target had it for $6. USD I still haven't see the scorpion on a shelf.

..and don't get me started on this skeletal giant piranha…
seen here on the awesome Bogleech.com down near the bottom:

Target is the only place I have seen it. I will be picking one up asap. The jaws are hinged! It will be perfect for my 54mm fantasy pirate games.

Skeletal spiders? Don't spiders have EXOskeletons? And why are they "bone" color?

(steps off high horse)

It doesn't get more Halloweeny than a scorpion with an exo- AND endoskeleton :)
